Es una cantante, compositora, productora y actriz, estadounidense de ascendencia dominicana y puertorriqueña. Fue participante del concurso de talentos televisivo The Voice, y tras llegar a los últimos seis concursantes de la tercera temporada del programa y ser eliminada, se embarcó en una gira acústica nacional donde interpretó versiones que realizó durante el concurso y algunas canciones originales. Melanie ha sacado 2 discos, el primero titulado Cry Baby y el segundo anunció que sera publicado para este 2020 y llevara por titulo After school y  estara compuesto por 6 canciones.

Se le dice interprete de las letras con sus trajes de muñeca y con dos colores diferentes de cabello hace música difícil de olvidar, además de siempre presentar temas musicales inigualables que hablan de la vida y lo cotidiano con un toque juguetón y a la vez gótico, es una artista digna de escucharse por todo el mundo.
